My grandfather AUGUST AUST was born in Schmottseifen,
Silesia. He moved to New York in the early 1910's. I have not been able
to find Schmottseifen on any maps. I would appreciate and/all help in locating

Porwol and August Wojak. I can communicate in both Silesian and German
but have had no formal education in either. I am very interested in the

My mother and father came from Mosty u Jublonkova - now in the Czech
Republic. Attempted to have some genealogical work done, but it seems the
name "Lysek" is as common as "Smith" in the US. Yet I have never met another
Lysek - perhaps there are other spellings. I do know we were related to
"Sikora" on my father's side as well as "Szotkovski" on my mother's. My

I've done research on eight indivual families who emmigrated to
Texas and settled in the areas of Panna Maria, Karnes county, Wilson county
and St. Hedwig area. Most of the immigrated from the area of Swibe, (Schwiben)
Prussia. They left beginning in 1854 and continued immigration through
the 1870's. If you are looking for any information on family who may have

I would like some information on the Kulla family from Simmelwitz,
near Namslau and on the Estate that is in Simmelwitz. My father's name
is Richard(born February 23, 1912), his brothers were Karl, Robert and
Ernst(died in war). Sisters are Marie(Mary)-(married Fiolka- son named
Hans), and Martha(son named Peter(Kulla). Parents were Franz and Rosina(Bernot)
and I believe a great great grandfather named Johannes(died at 106 years).
There might also be a female relative some where in Brazil and Hungry.
If someone can piece this together for me, that would be great. This all
I have to go on... If some someone has information on the last name of
Bernot and any and all pictures, dates and records of any kind would greatly
