Hello! I just figured out today that my grandfather came from Silesia.
My mom kept saying from Slask and I couldn't find it on the maps. After
6 hours searching the web (and trying to read a language I don't know)
I figure out that it is a region! Anyway, that leaves me without a city
or town to get in touch with for a genealogy search. Any suggestions?

My family lived in Silesia from 1499 until 1945, but we still visit
the old estates at times. We will have our worldwide family reunion there
in 1999, the 500th anniversary of our arrival there from Moravia.
